LUPRON DEPOT ® (leuprolide acetate for depot suspension) mg for 1-month and mg for 3-month administration with iron therapy are used before fibroid surgery to improve anemia due to vaginal bleeding from fibroids. Your doctor may consider a one-month trial of iron alone as some patients’ anemia will improve with iron alone. It is recommended that LUPRON DEPOT not be used for more than 3 months in patients with fibroids. Experience with LUPRON DEPOT in females has been limited to women 18 years of age and older.
Following a single injection of LUPRON DEPOT mg for 3-month administration in patients, mean peak plasma concentrations were ng/mL at 4 hours and then declined to ng/mL at 12 weeks. Leuprolide appeared to be released at a constant rate following the onset of steady-state concentrations during the third week after dosing, providing steady plasma concentrations through the 12-week dosing interval. However, intact leuprolide and an inactive major metabolite could not be distinguished by the assay which was employed in the study. The initial burst, followed by a decline to a steady-state concentration, was similar to the release pattern seen with the monthly formulation.
The second theory is similar and is known as "evolutionary neuroandrogenic (ENA) theory of male aggression".   Testosterone and other androgens have evolved to masculinize a brain in order to be competitive even to the point of risking harm to the person and others. By doing so, individuals with masculinized brains as a result of pre-natal and adult life testosterone and androgens enhance their resource acquiring abilities in order to survive, attract and copulate with mates as much as possible.  The masculinization of the brain is not just mediated by testosterone levels at the adult stage, but also testosterone exposure in the womb as a fetus. Higher pre-natal testosterone indicated by a low digit ratio as well as adult testosterone levels increased risk of fouls or aggression among male players in a soccer game.  Studies have also found higher pre-natal testosterone or lower digit ratio to be correlated with higher aggression in males.
